Sadly the media rarely portrays social care in a positive light which is a travesty when so much good happens in our sector and we come across amazing stories where high quality social care has literally transformed a person’s life.  These stories are seldom seen by the general public which is why every year we shine a spotlight on the wonderful carers we have and reward them for their dedication and commitment to their job.  Our CARE awards is held annually to celebrate excellence in social care. Our carers are of course invited as well as customers, relatives and other professionals we work with.  The evening consists of a posh three course dinner followed by an award ceremony and then a disco until the early hours.  Our carers are nominated by colleagues and customers and celebrated on the night with an award and a prize.  Held at the Elizabeth Copdock hotel this years awards ceremony was a huge hit. Many of our staff were able to attend along with relatives of clients and representatives from Suffolk County Council.  Our team worked really hard putting the whole thing together and we are incredibly proud of them.

The Newcomer Award

Presented by: Yvonne Goldsmith

This award is for the best newcomer. The person has to have joined the company within the last 12 months and has shown dedication to all aspects of their job role including providing reliable, person centred care and a positive attitude to their career in home care. They will have been reliable, keen to learn and a welcome addition to their team and our customers have spoken highly of them We are looking forward to seeing what the next 12 months brings for this special person.

Best Approach to Learning and Development Award

Presented by: Chelsey Cookson

This award is exactly what it says in the title and is awarded to the person who has taken a positive approach to learning development including: face to face learning, care skills online and enrolling onto the RQF in adult social care.

Team Award

Presented by Ousman Barrow

This award is for pulling together to improve team working, providing consistently reliable, high quality care, often evidenced in customer feedback. Every member of the team works in collaboration with each other and with other professionals to ensure the best customer experience

Team Leader Award

Presented by Gemma Taylor

This award if for the team leader who understands how to support the team and has sound knowledge of the administrative requirements of their job. A great communicator and positive company ambassador that has developed good relations with outside authorities and contributed to company growth, policy and decision making.

Putting People First Award

Presented by: Connor Watt

This award goes to the person who always puts their customer’s needs first before all else. True person-centred care is at the heart of everything they do. They might go the extra mile for people, or they might have done something truly special to make a difference to someone we support. And they do not compromise on good care.

Managers Choice Award

Presented by: Ousman Barrow and Lorraine Saidy

Chosen by the management team, this award goes to a special all-rounder. Someone that we are extremely proud to have as part of our team and deserves recognition for what they do. This could be literally anyone.

Cross County Award

Presented by: Lorraine Saidy

For the carer that fears nothing. This person has no qualms about covering new areas when the need arises. They have a complete understanding that all customers we support need that support, wherever they live.

Best Communicator

Presented by ; Chelsey Cookson

This is awarded to the person with a full understanding of the need to report concerns, developments and changes. They know very well that there is no such thing in this industry as too much communication. They are adept and thorough with record keeping, fully understanding the importance of clear, accurate and legible care note entries and medication records. And they always call us back!!

Outstanding Contribution to Care Award

Presented by Yvonne Goldsmith

This person will have worked for Nayland Care for over 10 years. They will have made a special contribution to the reputation of the company and had a positive influence on co-workers in the way care is delivered. Their experiences at Nayland may have even shaped policy and decision making. This is a very special award for someone we are blessed to have working with us

Reliability. We’re very proud to have a reliable workforce This person(s) ALWAYS shows up for work, no matter what, we know they will be where they say they will be, and they never let anyone down. We believe this should be recognised because it’s so vitally important that our customers know they can depend on us.

Overcoming Adversity

This person(s) has delivered excellent care without complaint, despite their own challenges. Their cup is always half full, and they deserve recognition for their courage and kindness.
